A series inspired by the mythology assembled around femininity. How women are elevated, molded, and eviscerated by the prevailing hegemonies of mankind.

Madonnelle 01 consists of an image of Lena Forsin’s 1972 Playboy centerfold image duplicated and pixelated over and over again to create a distorted animation. Lena’s image was used by Alexander Sawchuk and his team at University of Southern California’s Signal Processing Institute to create the compression algorithm used for JPEGs.
